Thyme out hq12/29/2023 ![]() It is getting harder and harder to remain positive about it all. Its been a tough few months with Bfn and I think it is wearing me down considerable. I, like am full of love for the support shown by and while I have little interest for myself in terms of rank within the forum (or indeed my worthiness), I have to agree with express my surprise and disappointment that and and other long standing members in the community here have not been given the recognition they so deserve after the time and effort they have put in to help and support other members for a very long time. I am sad to have to come to this decision. and I hope in some way I have contributed support and help to the community if only in a small way. I love the franchise and have gained a huge amount from the forum (and had some great fun). I have been part of these forums for a long, long time and have received such great support since my first baby steps into GW2 and for this I am truly grateful. ![]() Sadly I have to echo say my goodbyes for now. I'll recharge my batteries & see how things go. And I really don't want to be a person who drags other people down - I joined the forum for the love of the franchise & a hope that I might be able to contribute a little help & support for others, as well as maybe a few ideas. I have been feeling that my usual positive attitude to the forum & my hope that the game will improve have taken a bit of a battering recently anyway, so feel it's in everyone's interests - if I'm feeling negative, then my contributions are more likely to be as well. on that subject, I'd like to say I am incredibly touched by the support shown by While being less sure of my own worth, I completely agree that long-term members like & (as well as several others) deserve more recognition & am surprised they haven't been promoted long ago. Some of you may have seen a post elsewhere today. At this precise moment, I'm unsure whether this is temporarily or permanently. I've come to the decision that I need to step back from the forum. Information, Guides and Announcements for the EA app.Be a Michigan-centric healthy foods chain with 30-50 stores total and just be happy with it because the rest of the geographic footprint isn't working. Love it.įresh Thyme should forget the other states where they are trying to operate except for Indiana where Meijer is also a major player.įresh Thyme needs to go smaller, clean house, and save money with their headquarters relocated to Michigan. Openly tell Michiganders that Fresh Thyme is part of Meijer. Clearly, Michigan loves Meijer and that's where Fresh Thyme should retrench their locations and headquarters. The last review of statistics shows Meijer has 242 stores and half (121 stores) are in Michigan. They'd also trade legacy Sprouts, Sunflower, and Sears leadership to Earth Fare for a 7th round draft pick or their outright release. If Meijer was serious about Fresh Thyme profitability, they would move the Fresh Thyme HQ out of Chicago and focus Fresh Thyme's footprint in Michigan where Meijer loyalty is BY FAR the strongest. In the 2000's, Meijer had rounds of layoffs after trying to expand too far beyond their Michigan roots against the Kroger and Wal-Mart machines. Who can forget such Meijer classics like Copper Rivet, Sagebrush, and Tansy? Or Spaar or Meijer Square? These efforts go back to the 70's and into the 1990's. ![]() Just look up the history of Meijer they have a whole lineup of failed retail ventures. If things do not change in three-to-five years, Fresh Thyme will join the list of failed retail "branch out" efforts from Meijer, who owns 51% of the company.
